Here in Thailand I don’t worry. Honestly. Incredible tax invoices? An overloaded mail box? Whatever. Vacation-mode starts in the head and that’s why I take a break from everyday life, lounge at the beach and do what I love most: I listen to audio books.
I’ve already told you about my addiction to the audible app and here, under the sun of Thailand I’m satisfying my needs for audio books. Laying down, closing my eyes, putting on my headphones, and getting soaked in a story – that’s my perfect kind of vacation. For those of you who are going on vacation or those who are just searching for a good (audio) book, I put together my 5 favorite audio books for vacations on my audible playlist:
1. J.K Rowling –
Rumor has it that there are muggles on this earth, who haven’t read Harry Potter, but who have only seen the movies. In my opinion, Harry Potter is an absolute must and is one of the most important books of our times, well, my time at least. I devoured every single book several times. And now, finally all Harry Potter books are available as audio books, too. Definitely a must-hear for all established and Harry Potter fans-to-be!
2. Andreas Eschbach – Eine Billion Dollar
Yes, I’m a little Eschbach fangirl. And next to Herr Aller Dinge, his book Eine Billion Dollar is one of my favorite books out of his collection. Somewhere settled between sci-fi and crime story it faces the question what to do when all of a sudden you become the richest man on earth and you have to make the world a better place. It’s thrilling, it’s deep and it’s loooong!
3. Stieg Larsson – Millennium
Another thrilling crime series, which is
exciting from the first page on. No wonder
it’s a beststeller! Many of you might now
that series as books or movies, but did you
know there is a fourth part?
The Girl in the Spider’s Web.
4. Frank Schätzing – The Swarm
This audio book got voted first place in the category of all audible audio books out of 10 years. A good reason to give it a try, right? Let me tell you, it’s sooo thrilling! I wouldn’t have voted it first place, because I prefer audio books like Look Who’s Back or Känguru-Chroniken. But it is definitely a very good book about the (fictional) secrets of the ocean and a truly doping audible experience.
5. Wolfang Herrndorf – tschick
Searching for a happy-go-lucky audio book for a relaxing day at the beach?
Then tschick is the right choice. It’s short and sweet, takes you back to
yoour childhood memories and is a thoughtful story about friendship that
makes you want to go out on adventures instead of fearing life.
All in all the perfect reading for spending time on the beach.
Thank you Audible
