Some friendships are for life.
There are friends you share the most beautiful moments with, you have the best parties with them, and you spend the most relaxed evenings together. They support you, they are your company, the comfort you when you need it.
These friends are not always necessarily human, sometimes they are animals, or even special items like that one leather jacket that you once wore at an unforgettable concert, that piece of furniture that moved with you from city to city.
I made a new friend like that recently, a room-mate, so to speak. His name is Carl, and he earned himself the best spot in the house:
There he rests now, and from time to time he tempts me to leave my workspace and to give myself up to him for a while.
Carl is a proper reading chair, once you sink into it you never want to get up again. Carl doesn’t just look comforting – he is. You can really sink into this chair, which is why it has become my favorite lounging spot in the flat. My cat feels the same, by the way.
For my cat, this chair isn’t just a metaphorical friend, it’s a real buddy in a literal sense. Whenever I’m no using it, my cat lies there. I always looks like he’ll never budge again. Well, the thought of food usually gets him moving at some point.
Sometimes we’re lounging together, snuggling up comfortably. I read a magazine, he chills on my lap. Those moments are among my favorites in life.
Carl, my chair, appears to love humans and animals alike. I had the feeling he would when I picked him, so I made sure to order a grey version, with a cover that’s resistant to claws and pet hair. That’s another huge advantage about Carl: he comes in all kinds of colors and finishes. Apart from my grey model I also really like the elegant cognac leather version a lot. With a fabric cover or in leather – my room-mate is a friend for life, and on top of it one the whole family loves.
