Copenhagen Fashion Week Highlights

New season new looks. Considering that the official ‘fashion month ‘ starts in September with the Fashion Week in New York, Copenhagen Fashion week kicks off pretty early. The Danish metropolis has advanced to become a veritable hot spot of the scene, and has built renown for contemporary styles, plenty of up-and-coming fashion talent and a general feeling of having the finger on the pulse of tomorrow’s trends. This season we saw presentations by established names like Lala Berlin (Leyla Piedayesh already showed a sneak peek of what’s in store for SS17 at Berlin Fashion Week in July), Malene Birger and Baum und Pferdegarten, amond many others. Here’s a little summary of the most important news and highlights of the event for you.

cpfw-3   Lala Berlin Leyla Piedayesh presented her new SS17 collection at the Carlsberg brewery’s Elephant Gate, which is just about the best location she could have picked. The organizers countered the cool temperatures with warming blankets (despite the summer feeling the thermometer never climbed higher than 14 degrees celsius). Piedayesh presented a wide range of ideas from jungle print to volants and cool designs in bottle green, white and baby blue. We’re definitely looking forward to the must-haves of the season to come! By Malene Birger Pretty in Pink. The pink color scheme of the invitations to the show By Malene Birger set the tone for the designer’s presentation of her new SS17 collection. We saw a whole bunch of stripes in royal blue and white, classic trench coats, sporty elements, feminine suits and floor-length dresses. Cool accessory: flats with rosé colored fur.

Fonnesbech Cool, cooler, Fonnesbech. If elegant looks in classic Danish style are your thing, you came to the right place here. The designer combined asymmetrically cut pencil skirts with casual T-Shirts and sporty knit-wear elements. Deconstructed dresses and a color palette that included beige, white and dark green complete the cool touch of this collection.

Saks Potts Top model Caroline Brasch in a light blue fur jacket with flower print in beige – the look that probably draw the most attention from photographers is incredibly cool and at the same time super casual. Rounded off with loose jeans and classic sling-backs, the it-label showed hip and happening looks with statement character.

Baum und Pferdgarten Hands down one of the highlights of the entire Fashion Week event. The label Baum und Pferdegarten combines glitter, minimalism, sportiness and femininity. We also saw frills galore, checkered patterns and stripes, printed pants, mini dresses and gently swaying skirts with flats, straps and belt bags. Chapeau!

Fashion Week news:: On top of the amazing shows, Copenhagen Fashion Week also set the stage for a launch. Pernille Teisbaek, blogger and internationally famous fashion icon launched her new website “Social Zoo“, a platform for up-and-coming talents and also a consulting agency for influencers.

Echt toll :)
