What can I tell you about this week?
I was in Munich again, for another round of Press Days. The last couple of years I usually had to cancel my attendance to trips, and I kind of forgot how exhausting and intense this time is. At the same time I’m glad I went, as I met many of my old friends and acquaintances again, and got to know great new people. Some of the peeps I had the chance to reconnect with face to face are long-time partners, so it was great to have some time in person. Apart from all the many impressions I gathered, my wish list grew enormously.

Plus, I shot the first Youtube clips! That’s pretty exciting news, I can’t wait to put them up on my channel! This much I can already reveal: I’ll have a make-up tutorial, a fashion tutorial and a room tour for you :)

But for the moment I’m happy that it’s weekend. I took a (voluntary) break from traveling outside of Germany for a while, but now it’s time to get back into the international game. At the end of next week I’ll be heading to…. Taiwan!!
I am SO excited to go. I have really no idea what awaits me there. Taiwan isn’t one of those typical tourist destinations, and I think the fashion blogger density is relatively low (talking about westerners, of course) – just what I’m looking for! And of course I’m taking you with, I’m gonna do tons of Instastories :)

Woman Crush
Christiane Arp.
Two days ago I attended a Vogue dinner in intimate round, organized as part of Gallery Weekend – and I was blown away! Not only by the dinner and the evening, also by Christiane Arp, editor in chief of Vogue. This woman radiates intelligence, grace and coolness to a degree that made it difficult for me to not show my admiration too openly. Truly an incredible woman.
When I grow up I want to be like her.

Thoughts
At the Vogue dinner I had a conversation with a freelance editor about the existence as freelancer and blogging. At some point she asked me what I’d change if I could change something.

‘You mean in the blogosphere, or in private life?’
‘In private life’
, she answered.
‘I would love to have more time for my family’.

The truth is, that I have a huge amount of work that I opted for out of my own free will. And while I travel less now, I still don’t have nearly enough time for my close friends and family. Thankfully I am surrounded by understanding people, but I am quite alarmed how fast I had my answer ready. I am obviously doing something wrong. My reaction signals that some aspect of my life is in imbalance, which means I am unhappy in that regard. It seems to be a hole that work cannot fix. I may write more about it at some point, but first of all I need to do some soul searching. I hope I will find the answers, which I kind of already know, to questions that I have been asking myself forever, in Asia.
We will see.

Sinned:
I did it again – I went shopping.
It was supposed to be a brief – a really, really brief – visit to Theresa in Munich. Well, huge mistake. I found things, beautiful things. I found THE pair of shoes, the pair I’ve been looking for for half an eternity. They were sold out everywhere else, I tried everywhere, in real life, on the net, couldn’t find them. And then, there they were – in my size.

Seriously friends, I NEVER had a chance. I always wanted exactly these shoes, and I just had to get them. I admire them every day now. Just wish they were a bit more comfy, but hey, that’s the price of beauty.

Watched:
After 7 seasons I have finally wrapped up a fantastic show that I can only wholeheartedly recommend to all of you: The Good Wife.

The show was never a big hype, and not that much was talked about it, but that doesn’t take away any of its brilliance. While it’s a ‘typical’ lawyer-drama, maybe a little less brutal and dramatic than ‘House of Cards’ and more serious than ‘Suits’, it is, at the bottom line, much more realistic. It feels real, deals critically with current problems and was wrapped up in style. I’m a little sad that it’s over, but I am also grateful that this show exists, and that it never faltered until the end.

  1. I have another series recommendation for you called Peaky Blinders, so GOOD! The shoes are so beautiful and that heel with turn heads, that’s for sure. Have lots of fun in Taiwan, I’ve always wanted to visit as I have few friends living there. It goes without saying I am looking forward to the upcoming travel posts!
