Fall is here, the days grow shorter and shorter, the trees lose their last leaves, the sky is mostly grey. The sun is a rare guest these days, the green in nature has made way to a more subdued color palette. What remains are memories of beautiful, easy-going summer days, images of flowers in full bloom and the shadows of faded colors in our minds.
But winter has a beautiful side as well. We spend more time at home and surround ourselves with beautiful things. It’s up to us to be creative in order to bring colors back into our lives.
‘Flowerbomb, our first perfume, is designed to surprise and baffle. It’s like in our fashion: we don’t simply present clothes, we hope to inspire and enthrall. The same goes for our scent – we hope to inspire women who love to dream, but have both feet on the ground and live their lives.
Flowerbomb is an explosive cocktail of blossoms, that stimulates your fantasy. This scent touches the heart, drives out sadness and tinges the daily routine in a positive light. It is a breath of fresh air, a geyser of emotions, an invitation to celebrate life as utopia.’

We can still carry a bit of summer through the winter days by wearing colorful clothes, by partying together, or by buying pretty flowers. And there’s another way to remind our senses of those intangible summer vibes: we can wear the right scent.
For me, wonderful scents are always connected to emotions and sensations. For example, a flowery scent will always remind me of the magical quality of summer: the joy of living, sun and lightness.
Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is one of those evocative scents. It smells like a bunch of 1000 flowers in the brightest colors, and encapsulates a light sensuality and freshness. It is a playful scent, with a classic undertone of wood. In other words, it combines everything that I consider important in a perfume.
The secret of this bestseller – Flowerbomb has been on the market for about 10 years by now – is it’s special composition: a head note of tea and bergamot for freshness, rounded off with a base note of patchouli and rose for sensuality and passion. The heart note is a combination of freesia, jasmin and orchid. These scents give the perfume a flowery intensity that feels like a breath of summer on your skin.
Although I love all seasons in their own way, I do have moments in winter where I long for summer, the lightness that characterizes it, the sun, the joi de vivre. Flowerbomb is a wonderful way to stimulate that summer feeling in my heart. It really helps me to transform the dull and grey side of winter into something a little more magical. I shot the scent on Iceland, a perfect match with its magical, mystical landscape. It really felt like I was transported to a different world.
Can’t wait to visit this incredible island again, hopefully soon!
