Hard to believe that it’s already been two week since I went to Stockholm to be a part of Goldwell’s Color Zoom.   The Global Zoom Event is kind of an intern competition, in which Goldwell hairdresser from all around the world present their skills and the new Color Zoom Hair Collection is released. The winner of the single categories get to work with international trend-scouts and experienced Goldwell masters on next year’s collection. They practically become trendsetters themselves.

It’s a big deal for Goldwell’s hairdresser – who wouldn’t want to be a part of this? Instead of trimming ends and coloring roots they have the chance to run riot creatively, experiment and create new trends. And that’s what this post is about: the newest hair trends!

The new Color Zoom Collection runs under the slogan IN-FLUX. This stands for a never ending flow of creativity. Inspired by new coming fashion trends the Color Zoom ’17 team created a collection which combines different attributes just as light and dark, soft and strong, heroic and mythical – an exciting connection of hairstyling and a progressive lifestyle.

Similar to the Fashion Week, lots of the presented styles are too extreme to just wear them on the streets. That’s why I picked out three trends I think are the most interesting and suitable for the everyday life.

TREND 1

The mullet.

Not kidding, the mullet is back! Say: short on top, long in the back.   Some of you might still remember it from the 80’s, but like most of the trends it witnesses its revival. With “Die Antwood” it was only a matter of time. I’ve already seen the trend on the streets of Berlin and what scared me the most: it looks quite good if you know how to style it:   The new mullet has a short and fringed bang and long sides and lengths. It is the opposite to the current trend to wear your hair on the same lengths. In this sense, the mullet is just an extreme version of a layered hairstyle with fringe.   Although I’ve been skeptical at first I am now convinced that, if realized in a cool way and type fitting, I really like the revival.

TREND 2

Bangs

It’s been long gone from the streets and runways worldwide and was replaced by middle partings and sleek hair. Now it seems to have fighten its way back on our heads – and it appears in many ways: super short, overlong, fringed, straight or rounded. The possibilities are nearly endless and after all those bang expressions I’m wondering once again ..shall I?

TREND 3

Faded highlights

After pastel colors, balayge and ombre (I could go on and on), the newest trend arrived: faded, colorful highlights. They lay like soft strands and are only recognizable on a second glimpse. Gold, red, cyan and dark lila mark contrast to the hair color and set a (soft) tone at the same time, not only with light, but especially with darker hair. Especially for people who want some variety in their hair style but don’t want to go all out with colorful strands those pastel colors are a great alternative.

  1. Masha, hast du nicht mit 16 den 3. Trend schon ausprobiert?
