Christmas is definitely among my favorite holidays. Like every year, I was impatient for the festive season to finally begin. And now my flat is decorated, I’m listening to christmas songs – all that’s missing is the perfect christmas story! For me, these things are absolutely indispensable at Christmas time: being together, enjoying the time shared with friends and family and appreciating the true value of those shared moments, and listening to the stories everyone tells from their year, the new ones, and also those that come up every year anew, and that I never tire of hearing from someone I love.
This Christmas, some of the stories come from Audible: every Advent Sunday, Audible gifts a free Christmas short story to all of us. This is a really lovely idea, and perfect to get in that special Christmas mood while you bake cookies or prepare your flat. And you know what’s really cool? These stories are read by Hollywood stars! Well, kind of, they’re read by the voice actors dubbing those stars in German. Every Advent Sunday you get the chance to listen to George Clooney’s (German) voice, to Scarlett Johannson, Robert Downey Junior or Jennifer Lawrence, all of the reading festive short stories ranging from detective stories, comedic texts, love stories or fairy tales – there’s something for everyone!
