‘Hang on a second…’
It’s evening, I look into the mirror and can’t quite believe what I’m seeing. Is my hair really that greasy at the hairline again? I mean, I just washed them earlier today. I run my hand through my hair, inspect the disaster a bit more closely. The verdict: no, it’s not grease. New hairgrowth pushed out of the skull with such and unexpectedly healthy shine that the older hair looks almost greasy in comparison.
The moment is so absurd, it makes me laugh.
Usually this would have been a case for some dry shampoo, my weapon of choice against these kinds of doubts.
But there’s another option: I’ll try to restore the shininess of my older, more brittle hair. Let’s see if I can improve the appearance of my hairline like that. My plan is to let my natural hair-color grow back out, and I’ll hold on to that. Unfortunately though, this takes a while, and my hair looks rather unflattering right now. I have to make a change – pronto.
Said and done, I headed to the hairdresser Icono with the goal to improve my color and I ended up giving the ELUMEN system a try.
Most red-headed friends I have know ELUMEN. There’s probably no other antioxidant hair color on the market that matches ELUMENS’s color retention while being so gentle to the hair and scalp in the process. The product works with a physical magnet effect, with which the negatively charged pigments are retained in the positively charged hair interior, where the pigments are then permanently anchored. Just like two magnets attracting each other.
This means you bypass oxidation and ammoniac with its pungent odor, and still end up with a long-lasting hair color. On top of it, your hair will look extra shiny and healthy due to the product’s repair effect. Elumen fills porous areas of your hair interior, the result is a smoother appearance of your hair structure. Your hair will shine and reflect light almost like a mirror.
Tried and tested, and I’m happy to confirm: my hair shines from the hairline to the tips!
To keep my hair color vibrant and shiny for as long as possible, I use products from the ELUMEN care series – perfect for hair treated with ELUMEN. The range includes ELUMEN Wash, a care shampoo that reduces the bleaching of your hair color. This product is specifically designed for dyed hair and helps to retain brilliance and color intensity for far longer. Then there’s ELUMEN Treat, which supports the repairing effect of ELUMEN by optimizing the hair structure while also preserving the hair’s shininess. It’s ideal for somewhat porous and damaged hair that needs extra care. ELUMEN Treat improves the manageability of your hair, makes it smooth to the touch and easier to comb. Lastly the range also includes ELUMEN Care, a spray for normal to porous hair which forms a protective layer around your hair. It also makes your hair easier to comb and preserves shininess. Moreover, the spray provides an extra care effect for porous hair when combined with ELUMEN Treat.
By the way, if you’re not looking to dye your hair but still feel like enjoying the benefits of an Elumen treatment, try Elumen Gloss Servide. It’s essentially a colorless version of the dyeing product and designed to enhance the appearance of your natural hair color and to make it more shiny. Well worth a try!
