So, it looked like it was going to be a quiet week… but it wasn’t meant to be! On Monday I had a pretty elaborate shoot for McArthur Glen, and obviously I’m dying to show you the result. If you don’t see it here, you’ll probably notice the series of short videos on Friedrichstrasse in Berlin, where they will be on display for a week. The whole thing was super exciting.
Apart from that it was quite an emotional week for me, I sorted through old photos and diaries, found a bunch of funny stuff and revisited cherished memories. It’s really touching to be reminded of a younger version of yourself, to be reminded of the fears and worries of a teenager.
Next week I’ll be heading to… Amsterdam! And you know what’s the coolest thing about that? It’s a private trip. No shoots, no work, just leisurely roaming around, discovering the city, enjoying the hotel (we’ll stay at W Hotel!). We’re driving up by car, which also means I won’t be in danger to spend money shopping at the airport. Do you have any tips in Amsterdam for me? Flea-markets, interior shops, anything like that? Please share :)
There’s also another private highlight coming up, that I’m very much looking forward to: my best friend Lina (who I haven’t seen for what seems like ages) and I will attend a piano concert by Tom Odell, presented by Vevo. I have the feeling next week is going to be awesome!
I feel like I’m bubbling over with new ideas. Seriously!
I have so many ideas for Sunday posts, and that was one of the biggest challenges in the last couple of months. Either way, I’ll stick to the plan and will continue with the slightly reduced posting schedule until the end of the month. On September the 4 I’ll have a new Sunday post for you.
It’s crazy to realize how difficult it has become for up-and-coming blogs to stand out from the crowd. When I started blogging, the bar was pretty low in that respect, the bulk of the competition was pretty much a bunch haphazard mirror selfie galleries. The average quality has increased enormously since those days, blogging on a certain level requires so many skills these days. I’m grateful that I started so early, it’s definitely true that it’s become more difficult to get noticed and to reach any kind of sizable audience. Many established writers adopt an attitude of looking down at up-and-coming bloggers, which is not helpful. I think it makes rather more sense to appreciate and respect the ones that make it despite the break-neck competition.
