I didn’t really plan it, but this week turned out to be a very busy one: Fenty by Rihanna was lainched in the Puma Store in Berlin Mitte, Marina Hoermanseder’s Hello Kitty collection is out, and on top of it there was Vogue Fashion Night Out.
In other words, plenty of reasons to celebrate, and even more so with the awesome weather we had!
Next week looks to be something like the eye of the storm. It’s probably going to be relatively quiet on the blog… but I guess if the weather turns out as nice as the forecast has us believe then most of you will be outside with friends anyways rather than spending too much time in front of the computer anyways.
I guess I’ll do the same and take one last breather before the Fashion Week madness kicks in…
Can we take a minute and talk about the election results in (the German federal state) Mecklenburg Vorpommern?
I mean… seriously?
I usually try to talk as little as possible about politics on this blog, but I just have to express that I’m genuinely shocked by this election result! Of course I knew that there are people out there who really think it’s wise to vote for the AFD party (a German right wing movement), but seeing how broad their support base is affected me personally. My parents came to Germany as immigrants about 25 years ago, and they paved the way to a brighter future for me. Somany people from so many different places live in Germany, and most of the time the integration is genuinely seamless, yet the focus always seems to fall on the most negative examples. Sure, the situation right now calls for solutions, but while we figure those solutions out even the most dim-witted citizen should have figured out by now that hoarding people like cattle in sporting venues can only exacerbate the problems. Elections in Berlin are coming up as well, and I really hope the result will be less awful.
Dear readers, please go and vote, and please think carefully about who you are going to vote for.
Time for a change:
For quite a while now, I was quite uncertain how to continue the Sunday post column. After serious consideration, I decided to scrap it. To be more precise, I’m going to scrap the title ‘Sunday Post’. I was among the very first bloggers to firmly establish the Sunday post as a fixture on the blogosphere, but it’s become so ubiquitous that it actually started to get on my nerves. I wonder how you feel about it? It seems like every blog has it’s own Sunday post now, and that’s all you get to read that day of the week. It’s become a bit boring, hasn’t it? So, scrap that.
Having said that, I will continue to write emotional, wordy texts – at varying points during the week. In other words, I’m not really scrapping my Sunday post, I just make it a bit more flexible. I have the feeling by now you’re probably pretty saturated by all the deep and emotional posts flooding your stream every Sunday, so I decided to schedule my Weekly Update for that day from here on in. It’s going to be more like a little light Sunday snack from here on in, between all the deeper posts during the week.
What do you think?
x Some pieces of Fenty by Rihanna Collection
x new sunnies by Dior
x a fluffy bag by Karl Lagerfeld
x one of the shirts of the Hello Kitty x Marina Hoermanseder Collection
Did you see the new Gucci Guilty campaign? Can we please talk about the fact that Jared Leto, who is now 44, still looks younger than 30? What can I say, I have a soft spot for that man…
