As you probably know by now, I’m giving my blog a little make-over in terms of content and categories, which also means that I’m kicking out some of the regular features you are used to – like for example the popular ‘5 Beauty Favorites’. I liked the column, but it quieted down a bit most recently, and the question emerged: how can I make it even better and more interesting for you? The answer is I have to expand it. I will continue to post monthly favorites, but will no longer confine those to the beauty segment. Instead, I’ll open it up to also include fashion, interior and life-style from here on in. Could be a cream, a bag, a book, a life-style accessory or even an app. In other words, I’ll post ten must-haves per month without restricting it to a segment or category. That means it’ll be more work for me, but it should also be a good bit more interesting and exciting for you, and will hopefully also give you a reason to look forward to these posts every month. Are your ready? Well then let’s jump right in!
Must-haves: September
1.Favorite Scent: Gucci Guilty Is the Ist der Gucci Guilty Scent really as amazing as everyone’s claiming? Yep, it really is. The scent is absolutely perfect for autumn, enchanting and seductive, without being heavy. It has a bit of an oriental note, but also a flowery aspect to it, and that combination makes it both exciting and luxurious. Without a doubt, a scent for a strong woman. Head note: Tangerine, pink pepper, peach Basic note: Patchouli Heart note: lilac, geranium
2.Favorite Hair Product: Goldwell – hair perfume You know, one item that’s constantly underestimated is the hair perfume! I’m always a littel hesitant to use ‘regular’ perfume on my hair, firstly because it seems like a bit of waste given that the scent doesn’t really stick, secondly because it’s also not particularly good for the hair. But Goldwell just launched a series of products on the market that I really like a lot. Not only do they immediately restore the scent of freshly washed hair, they also add a subtle shimmer and prevent the hair from building up static charges without damaging it. Talking about handy must-haves…
3.Favorite Flower: Tillandsia I think I may have finally found the perfect flower for me! Tillandsias grow without being potted, they don’t even need to be watered! Not joking! Everything this wonderful plant needs it sucks from the air, it doesn’t even have roots in the common sense of the word. And as it needs a lot of light and flourishes in high humidity, it’s the perfect plant for the bathroom!
4.Favorite Bag: Manu Atelier My newest favorite bag is from a still very new Turkish newcomer brand, launched in 2014 by two sisters. The two are daughters of a long-established leather product producer, and they decided to continue the family tradition by starting their own label. The brand, which ios mostly known for boxing bags went through the roof pretty much straight away, and is sold all over the world already. I discovered them at Avenue 32. I love the leather and the fact that there is all that space there in the bag but it doesn’t look bulky in any way. On the contrary: Manu Atelier bags are elegant and simple, and at the same time also a little edgy.
5.Favorite Painting: By Petra Lunenburg Petra Lunenburg caught my eye in Amsterdam – it was love at first sight! I love her way of painting, it reminds me of design sketches. For the first time ever, I bought a painting instead of opting for a designer bag. Her paintings are related to the world of fashion, but they remain classical and almost abstract in execution. None of the works I saw was even remotely cheesy, which is often the case in lesser paintings. I’m in love!
.6.Favorite Lipstick: Smashbox „made it matte“ Yes, it happened again, I found a new favorite lipstick! You may know that I’m completely crazy for matte Smashbox lipsticks, but this color tops even my already high expectations! It’s a dark red, neither quite a berry-color nor brown. Just a full, dark red, so beautiful in tone that it become my favorite lipstick the moment I tried it on.
7.Favorite Boots: Givenchy For as long as I can remember boots were always my favorite kind of shoes. In fact, I remember a good couple of pairs that I wore until they pretty much fell apart. I’m not sure if I’m going to go quite that far with this pair, but they have become genuine favorites of mine. I researched pretty much all the models that are on the market right now and my choice fell on these – and I never looked back.
8.Favorite Beauty Tool: Diorblush Light & Contour Being a girl who usually forgets either the highlighter or the bronzer when I leave the house, I absolutely love this stick. It’s the ideal solution for this problem, and saves me some space in the cosmetics bag as well. You have to know that I really do me best to travel as light as I possibly can whenever I’m on the road. It’s the all-round perfect companion: the bronzer is nice and dark and blends very well, and the same goes for the highlighter. This stick impresses with amazing contouring prowess on the go! 9.Favorite Mask: Magicstripes – Chin & Cheek I must admit that I sometimes have my problems with South-Korean-style masks, by which I mean those wet rag-like things that we’re supposed to smear on our faces. Having said that, Chin & Cheek Lifing Masks are more like band aids, soaked in nurturing substances . You basically pull the strips over your face and attach them behind your ears. Sounds (and looks) maybe a bit creepy, but it’s not very bothersome to wear at all – and very, very effective indeed! The skin in this rather tricky area becomes tighter, and pores shrink visibly. You see a clear difference between the treated areas that were covered by the strips and adjacent regions of the skin. The effect is actually so impressive that I’m no craving a version that covers the entire face.
10.Lieblingsautorin: Rebecca Gablé When it comes to historical novels, I’m very picky. They have to be suspenseful and captivating, but never come even close to being corny in any way. Historical novels are an art form in their own right, and Rebecca Gablé is a true master. What I love about this genre is how much knowledge you can draw from it. It’s basically like reading a super exciting history book. This month I read two of Rebecca Gablé’s books: First ‘The King of the Crimson City’, and right now I’m just finishing ‘Hub of the World’. Huge recommendation for everyone who has an interest in the medi-eval period and its hierarchies.

Sehr cool, dass du die Kategorie erweitert hast, sodass wir jetzt monatlich deine Favoriten aus verschiedenen Bereichen sehen. Haarparfüm finde ich eine tolle Sache, denn ich liebe es, wenn meine Haare gut reichen. Nur leider verlieren sie bei mir den Duft meist spätestens nach einem Tag. Dass das Haarparfüm von Goldwell auch gleich noch das statische Aufladen verhindert ist klasse – fliegende Haare nerven nämlich soo sehr. :D
Tillandsien… Davon habe ich vorher wirklich noch nie in meinem Leben etwas gehört, aber dass man sie nicht gießen muss und sie ihre Nährstoffe aus der Luft ziehen ist ja super interessant. Wahnsinn, was es so alles gibt.
Ich verwende zwar eher selten Masken, aber die Magicstrip Chin&Cheeck hört sich super an. Noch cooler fände ich es aber auch, wenn sie das ganze Gesicht bedecken würde.
Ich habe durch diesen Beitrag ganz neue Produkte kennengelernt, von denen ich vorher noch nie etwas gehört habe. Sehr cool! <3

Ich finde die neue Kategorie super so :) Und jaa der Lippenstift schaut mega aus, obwohl ich von meinem ersten Smashbox Lippenstift eher enttäuscht war. Na vielleicht gebe ich nochmal eine Chance.

Die Tillandsie kannte ich auch noch nicht. Musste auch direkt mal googeln wie sie aussieht, denn fürs Bad habe ich keine Pflanze die die Luftfeuchtigkeit verträgt, daher: coole Idee :-D

deine neue Idee, zehn Produkte pro Monat vorzustellen, finde ich total klasse. Ganz besonders diese Pflanze Tillandsien kannte ich noch gar nicht. Diese ist doch ein kleines Wunder :) da muss ich mich mal umschauen. Eine Pflanze, die man nicht gießen muss – das ist echt cool. Danke für den Tipp!

Der Lippenstift steht dir sehr gut, leider ist die Farbe nix für mich , aber das Haarparfum interessiert mich sehr, gibt es das bei uns in Österreich schon zu kaufen, würde mich interessieren?

Diese Kategorie finde ich am Besten! Eine total schöne, abwechslungsreiche Mischung, die auch für die, die zB eh schon viiiel zu viel Kosmetikzeugs haben (<– mich…) richtig luftig-leicht und interessant zu lesen ist.
Tillandsien sind supercoole Pflanzen, die man sogar auf Dekoobjekte kleben kann. In einem "Himmeli" zB. sehen sie so hübsch aus! Oder in Seeigelschalen und Muscheln. Ich hab' die Tillandsie von Mama manchmal mit einem nassen Pinselchen etwas "bewässert", das war aber eher spaßhalber :D
Woher kriegt ihr Blogger bitte alle die Eukalyptusblätter? Sie gefallen mir mit ihren runden Blättern und dem zarten weißen Schleier richtig gut, aber weder in meiner Stadt, noch in Wien habe ich sie je irgendwo gesehen. Ihr habt da sicher ein Geheimgeschäft, stimmts?
Zweimal ist mir richtiggehend der Atem stehengeblieben: der Lippenstift! Das ist ja echtes Blutrot! Dass ich jetzt "Blut geleckt" habe, kannst du dir sicher vorstellen. Ich glaube, mein Fundus hält da schon ein, zwei solcher Kandidaten für mich bereit!
Und die Stiefel! Schnürstiefel in allen Varianten dieser Welt, kommt in meinen Schuhfundus! Es gibt keinen Schuh, den ich mehr liebe! Und dieses Modell von Givenchy erinnert mich durch die Schnürung bis zur Spitze wieder an DAS Stiefel-Herzschmerz-Modell meines Lebens, dem ich seit vielen Jahren (erfolglos) hinterherjage: der Königin aller geschnürten Stiefel von Ann Demeulemeester, die black triple lace boots von Herbst 2008. Hach… ich brauche echt ein Duplikat oder Knockoff davon!

ja ich dachte auch, dass es ein bisschen spannender und eben abwechslungsreicher ist und Beautykandidaten wird es weiterhin ausreichend geben ;)
Ich habe bei mir einen Blumenladen um die Ecke, die haben die aussergewöhnlichsten Blumen u.a. öfters mal auch Eukalyptusbuquets! Ich LIEBE die nämlich auch und das Beste: man kann sie richtig gut trocknen lassen und sie bleiben genauso schön <3
Aber vermutlich ist das reine Glückssache…
Dafür suche ich seit Ewigkeiten nach GROßEN Kakteen, die sind gar nicht so einfach zu finden (und zu transportieren..)
Ja ich glaube der Lippenstift würde dir richtig gut gefallen, denn es ist wirklich so richtiges Blutrot. Die Farbe ist der Hammer!!
Der Stiefel ist leider unheimlich teuer und fast immer ausverkauft -.- aber sollte ich sowas ähnliches sehen wirst du es bei mir auf jeden Fall finden! :)

Ich mag die Aufmachung der Kategorie sehr gerne – Kompliment. Und ich mag auch den Mix super gerne – auch wenn ich sagen muss, dass mir der reine Beauty-Teil auch immer sehr gut gefallen hat. Das mit dem Haarparfum klingt sehr sehr spannend – gibt es die Produkte bereits im Handel?
