A new month has started, and summer is finally in full swing, at least here in Berlin. A perfect time to show you 5 of my favorite summery products.
Stella McCartney – Pop
I was a huge fan of the first Stella McCartney perfume, it really has become one of my absolute favorites. No wonder I was really looking forward to the launch of her second scent. Would it be similar? Or entirely different??
The answer is, it’s a mix. An amazing mix!
Pop’s scent is a bit clearer, fresher, with an intense scent of rose just like its predecessor. Yet somehow the perfume is a bit more modern and unique due to the combination with sandalwood, which adds a slightly woody note to the flowery scent.
All in all, the scent is a bit younger, the 4 testimonials (among them Madonna’s daughter Lola) kind of hint at the fact that the perfume is dedicated to the younger and more dynamic generation straight away. It’s perfect for me, I’m in love, this flowery-freshness is right up my alley. Next time you test products at a drug store make sure to try Stella McCartney’s new scent Pop. I’m pretty sure you’ll love it as much as I do :)
Benefit – High Brow Highlighter
A little while ago I had the chance to test the entire eyebrow palette by Benefit. One product stood out in particular: the eyebrow highlighter! By now you should now I have weakness for everything to do with highlighters. I’m still always excited when I receive a new product for my collection. I use the High Brow pretty much on a daily basis by now. With its creamy consistency it blends amazingly well, and the light tone creates an effect as if my eyebrows were a bit raised – that’s a very welcome result indeed! A definitive must have for contouring fans!
Nuxe – Huile Prodigieuse
I showed you this little miracle on Snapchat the other day, and the effect was incredible: the oil tinted my slightly reddish leg into a shimmering golden hue – it almost looked like I was wearing tights. On top of giving you beautiful, shiny legs (it also makes other body parts shine, of course), the product also nurtures your skin with high quality oils. This is definitely among my favorites for summer and perfect for my shootings!
Comodynes – Self Tanning Body Mousse
I don’t do tanning. It’s a matter of principle. I don’t have time for this luxury, and I also don#t have the skin for it. Honestly, I don’t even have the inclination to fry in the sun for hours on end onl to ruin my skin. That’s why I reverted to self-bronzers a long time ago. It’s just the more effective way, and if you use a good product no one will see a difference whether it’s the real deal or not. At some point, while I was in St. Tropez, I ran out of bronzer and switched from the product I had used to Comodynes. I am very happy with that decision. The bronzer gives your skin a rather light tone, the product – a foam – is super easy to apply. It takes a while for the results to become visible, but I would count that as an advantage. Gives me enough time to apply the bronzer evenly – none of that unnecessary time pressure when the bronzer is starting to show effect on some parts of your skin before you’re even finished. And on top of it the product absorbs swiftly, doesn’t leave any marks and comes at a fair price for the value. What else could you wish for?
Fresh – Sugar Roll on
The last item on my list is a product I bought in America. I’m not even entirely sure whether it’s available in Germany yet. It was a purchase of desperation, and I wouldn’t necessarily have expected to be so impressed with this one – we’re talking about a deodorant after all! Well, a deodorant and anti-transpirant, to be precise! The scent is neutral, the deo contains a range of natural active substances and is based on the traditional sugar principle (sugar has anti-bacterial properties!). Moreover, I am happy to attest that this deo does a great job preveting sweat. I suspect it’s difficutl to get a hold of it in Germany, which would be a real shame. I’d definitely go for another flask – especially with the temperatures being what they are in Berlin right now…
