Sometimes I ask myself what’s the trend of our times? Usually you can tell that only after a decade, like leggings in the 80’s, transparent plastic accessories in the 90’s and Paris Hilton in the 00’s. So what’s coming next? So what’s coming next? I think I know the answer.
I think it’s the mix of fashion and sportswear, a combination of athletic and leisure: Athleisure. Although this per se is no reinvention in fashion, but quite new to this extent. While fashion and sport used to be divided, now things have changed: dresses made of high-tech fabrics and jogging pants made of silk. Everything mixes up somehow and gives the sporting aspect in our life a larger space. It is a trend that simply reflects our time and the healthy movement. Green smoothies, optimized fitness programs and athleisure. Is this the new rebellion against mass production and fast food chains? The fact that Athleisure has arrived in the high-fashion sector is not only reflected in the fact that even the great fashion god Karl Lagerfeld seems to have changed his mind and sent his models in jogging pants on the catwalk and all bloggers are now running in Gucci sportswear, but also THE (in my opinion, extremely cool) cooperation between Louis Vuitton and the Streetwear Brand Supreme stand for a new era. H&M has also demonstrated that the mainstream is also taking part with their Studio Collection. When I saw the show I could not say exactly: Is that sport or is it fashion? The borders are too blurred to draw a clear line.

Even if I like the trend, actually any trend that is comfortable, I sometimes miss a certain nuance in Athleisure, which I myself can’t determine. Although the style brings high fashion back to a normal level, it is not quite my thing. Something inside me refuses, however, that functional jackets and hiking bags are also in fashion. I just do not want that.
Nevertheless, I tried to interpret the trend for me and make my thing out of it, so this outfit is the final result with the sweater from the Fenty collection (also here: sport or fashion?), trousers in the jogging pants cut and a functional vest, which I find however very very cool. Together with a cap and sneakers, this is not only a cool and sporty look typical for our generation, but also one that is typical for Berlin. And if there is a trend in which Berlin is boldly progressing and which fits 100% to the city, then presumably Athleisure. The city that knows no suits.

Very cool post. I’m also not the biggest fan of the high fashion sport-luxe style. However, I do think that you’re wearing it pretty damn well :-P
I wish I could be a bit more tom-boyish and rock something similar. I’m usually a bit too conservative and find it hard to get out of my style boundaries.
Anyways, just wanted to tell you that I’m a big fan and I really enjoyed your article.

Thank you dear <33
For me, I don’t feel comfortable in too feminine dresses, but that’s okay. I think we should all wear something we feel good in :)

Athleisure steht dir wirklich ausgezeichnet.

xx
Meeeeeeega Look Masha!
Hammer Outift Masha!
This trend seems to really suit you and come naturally to you!! Would love to see more of these kinds of stylings from you, you look great!

Thank you Kinga!!
