New York, London, Mailand and Paris. Those are the four biggest stages the fashion world has to offer. Leaving the Big Apple, the circus stops in London, where the show continues. Apart from shows and a seemingly endless multitude of events and opportunities for new discoveries, the looks on the streets contribute to the general Fashion Week atmosphere as well. So, before we head on to Milan and the big Italian fashion houses, let’s take a look at the street-styles of London and some tips how you can recreate them yourself.
Take a look at pants.
Trousers can be an eye-catching element of a successful outfit, or support the overall effect in more subtle ways. If you like to show off your legs without showing too much skin, these are some great trouser styles to choose from. Biggest plus: they’re super comfy yet very stylish! The sporty style is created simply by adding stripes on various kinds of trousers. You know the look from regular training sweatpants. Wider models with high waistlines and ribbon belts are even more stylish. These two variants are new street style favorites!

My grandmother knew it was true in her day, and it still is. If a deep cleavage feels like showing a bit too much, you have a great alternative in garments with a low-cut back. Once again, plenty of options on offer, well worth considering if you would like to show a little bit of skin despite the falling temperatures in autumn. Low-cut backs may not be great for colder days, but you can always play around with slogans, painted designs on the back of jackets etc to create eye-catching looks.
It may get colorful! or not.
One classic garment in autumn and winter is the tried and tested coat. In London we saw basically two main categories: colorful, eye-popping designs or black and white creations. These two approaches should actually satisfy most of us. There were no limits to the cuts, but the style we saw most often were long blazer-coats – an all time fav, no matter the color.

A garment for every woman.
There’s this one piece of clothing that pretty much everyone likes, and that is available in so many different styles that literally every taste is satisfied. Be it sporty or classy, feminine or casual, classic or modern, there’s one for every occasion: the perfect sweater. Ubiquitous on the streets of London, not least because the British weather tends to call for sweaters most of the time. We saw sweaters with laces, with statements and unusual decorative elements as well.

The classic among jackets.
Temperatures to one side, as soon as you spot the first ladies sporting leather jackets on the streets you know that autumn has arrived. If you invest wisely, your leather jacket will easily be a companion for many years. Having said that, the new models stir desires: classic biker-style cuts or pieces with waterfall-collars, leather jackets go with (almost) everything. They are simply perfect for autumn, so what better time to invest in one than now, as the colder seasons are coming around?

Hey, I put some new shoes on and suddenly everything’s right!
Let’s talk shoes! As so often, shoes are real highlights in the current street style trends, and most women have a soft spot for them. For a few seasons now we saw quite a lot of designs with special heels. The trend continued in London, where designers presented otherwise straight-forward bootees upgraded by eye-catching heels. We also saw plenty of colorful shoe models. The motto for the upcoming shoe season seems to be: more instead of less. If in doubt, get yourself more than one pair. No matter what the men say, there is no such thing as enough pairs of shoes!
