First of all, I had to figure out how I’m even going to call these pants. The correct english term would be frilly hem trousers or ruffle hem pants. I think I’m going to call them frilled pants here. These frilled pants have been a growing trend for quite some time now, I actually have two in my closet. But how suitable for everyday life are day?

Personally, I think they look a bit strange, to be frank. Feels a bit like some crazy designer came up with a something that works only in the fashion bubble. You wear it, but you know your neighbor will shake his head disapprovingly when they see you. It’s just a bit too out there for them. Fashion sure ain’t what it used to be… Nevertheless – or maybe for that very reason – I kind of like these pants. They’re somehow modern, give the outfit a cool twist and are definitely eye-catchers. They are frilled, but not necessarily in a playful way. And they are very flattering to the figure! Let’s appreciate that fact as well.
All that said, I’m not really an advocate of this trend. Sure, frilled pants can be a lot of fun in certain outfit combinations, but I would not invest a lot of money in an expensive piece. I just don’t believe that they will be around for all that long. I guess they’re a bit like summer hits to me: awesome for a season, but then you’ll have had enough of them for good.

endlich komme ich mal wieder dazu, auf deinem Blog rumzustöbern und meinen Senf dazulassen. :)
Ich finde Rüschenhosen auch cool, würde aber wie du schon sagst, nicht meinen Kleiderschrank damit zupflastern. Mit Rüschenblusen sieht es da bei mir schon anders aus, obwohl das wahrscheinlich auch wieder schnell vorbei sein wird. Aber es gibt halt so viele schöne Teile!
Dein Oberteil sieht übrigens auch ganz schön aus.
