Morgens
Sehr empfehlenswert!Mittags
Mittags habe ich oft Termine, aber ich liebe es kurz im Tattoostudio meines Freundes, Good Old Times Tattoo in der Torstr. 145 vorbeizuschauen. Abends
‚Berlin, you are so wonderful, Berlin.’ This sentence is so true. Ever since I visited Berlin for the first time, I knew I would need to move here as soon as I could. That was in 2005. Pretty much exactly 10 years ago. I wanted to come here SO BAD. My obsession went so far that I was actually about to drop out of school in my hometown so I could graduate in Berlin. Instead, I took the sensible route, and tried to come to Berlin as a visitor as often as I could. The city that gradually became my hometown… At some point, after several detours, the decision came quite spontaneously. My boyfriend, who I had only been with for a couple of months at that time, moved to Berlin – and I came with him. Packed my bags and said goodbye to Cologne with a heavy heart. But even though I loved Cologne, the move to Berlin was one of the best decisions of my life. A decision that changed my life forever. Berlin became my home. Before moving here, I thought I already ‘knew’ Berlin. But living here, engaging with everyday life, is an entirely different experience. What surprised me most of all, and what I really did not expect, was that I would buy into the ‘Kiez’ mentality so much (in Berlin, Kiez means ‘neighborhood’, or ‘area’). It is true what people say about Berlin: you’re subconsciously stuck in your Kiez. In my case, the neighborhood is Mitte. To leave it I need a really good reason. Once settled in your Kiez, most things you need, most things that make you happy, are close by: your favorite bakery, the little convenience store that regularly saves your life, the café where everyone knows exactly how you like your coffee, and the barkeeper that pours you your drink with a smile as soon as he sees you. Not to forget the owner of your favorite restaurant, who invites you to his birthday party. If you have all these boxes ticked you can be sure that you found the right Kiez for yourself. Why I tell you all this? Bench just started a new campaign – #lovemyhood. – with a couple of bloggers, musicians, artists and other creative people.“A Bench Guide to 24 Hours in …”, a city guide, shows you the typical Berlin-style Kiez-life of some of these creative Berliners… and I am part of it. For all of you who would like to find out what my daily routine in Berlin Mitte looks like, I picked some of mz favorite my hot-spots. A bunch of places where you’ll definitely bump into me sooner or later.Morning
Whenever I’m not too caught up in something stressful, I start my day with a chilled breakfast at Distrikt Coffee in Bergstrasse. Not only do they serve delicious tea (fresh lemon & ginger), but also a super tasty English breakfast. My favorite, however, is the goat cheese and avocado sandwich. Hugely recommended!Noon
I often have appointments and meetings around noon, but I love stopping by at my boyfriend’s tattoo studio Good Old Times Tattoo in Torstrasse 145. Sometimes I take him out for lunch to one of the many restaurants and little eateries at Rosenthaler Platz. Often I just fancy a burger and we end up at Tommy’s Burger Joint in Invalidenstrasse. The choice is not that big, but it’s a very nice and cozy place, and the burgers are very, very tasty. Sometimes I also head down to ‘Do You Read Me’, a magazine shop and a must for the creative crowd on Auguststrasse. I can spend hours flipping through trendy magazines that are almost impossible to get in the rest of Germany.Evening
I LOVE dinner! There are plenty of options in Mitte, but more often than not we end up in Toca Rouge. The place is known for experimental Asian cuisine at fair prices, and the food is SO incredibly tasty. You have to try the Spider Beef! And the toilet at Toca Rouge is a highlight in itself… but I do not want to spoil the surprise for your guys, you best see it for yourselves! I’m not that much of a party girl anymore and often prefer a couple of drinks in one of the many bars on Torstrasse. That’s where you find all the hip and happening bars and pubs like Kitty Cheng, Muschi Obermaier, Bonbonbar, Odessa Bar and many, many more. No one leaves this street sober. Well, now you have an idea where I hang out in Berlin. I hope you enjoyed my recommendations! The Look jeans: Bench cardigan: Bench shirt: Bench

Super Post!
